The only software for the design and specification of cellular beams in both fire and normal conditions. FBEAM3® allows engineers to design FIREBEAM® - Fire-engineered composite fabricated beams with cellular or bespoke openings for up to 2 hours fire resistance. Compliant with SCI AD 269 & RT 983, with proven performance based on a two year SCI-managed composite, loaded fire test programme. Fabsec® is a joint venture company with the support of four major shareholders. We offer highly efficient solutions for long span fabricated steel beams with cellular and bespoke web openings in the normal or fire condition. Through Severfield-Rowen plc and William Hare Ltd (licensed fabricators) with steel from Corus UK Ltd, Fabsec® has a manufacturing capacity in excess of 40,000 tonnes. Leigh's Paints (licensed coating supplier) provides Fabsec®with unrivalled intumescent coating and paint technology. This capability, plus our software development and engineering resources, delivers high quality and customer focus plus an innovative product range - now including FBEAM3® design software. Hungry for more design features? Fabsec®'s new, free FBEAM3® cellular beam design software has an array of exciting and innovative features that substantially improve beam design efficiency:
Breakthrough design capability FBEAM3® builds on the proven FBEAM2® capability (developed by The Steel Construction Institute) for the design of composite and non-composite primary and secondary floor beams and rafters. The unique fire design module was developed from a two-year SCI managed programme of loaded, coated composite tests at WFRC. The first noticeable feature is the new interface - it's friendlier, familiar and much easier to use and navigate. IT Managers within structural engineering practices will also like the fact that FBEAM3® is fully networkable. Alternatively, FBEAM3® may be installed on a stand alone basis on a PC or laptop. Updates to FBEAM3® will be downloadable from the Fabsec® website. The main new features of FBEAM3® are the Beam Wizard™ optimiser and the new toolbar for cell generation and editing. Both of these will enhance beam design efficiency and save engineer's time. For example, Beam Wizard™ will, within specified dimensional limits, optimise the beam design through a comparative analysis of successive designs to return the least mass or lowest cost solution in seconds. It will also optimise and convert between symmetric and asymmetric designs as well as composite and non-composite solutions. How fast do you want to optimise your cellular beam designs? Fabsec®'s new, free FBEAM3® software now includes the unique Beam Wizard™ - a fast and highly efficient 'one-pass' optimiser for beam designs in the fire and normal conditions. Key benefits include:
Beam Wizard™ removes the need for manual iteration and shortens the learning curve. How flexible do you want your cell generator to be? FBEAM3®'s new toolbar for cell generation and editing now makes an often complex and time-consuming task as simple as possible. The toolbar is versatile, flexible and sophisticated, but remarkably easy to use. For example, users can edit or select beam openings directly on the schematic, and change the shape, position or spacing in a few simple mouse clicks. Users can also save their design as a PDF for attachment to an email. The unique 'Microsoft® Windows®' style toolbar for cell generation and editing has the following powerful and unrivalled functionality:
